Hi there,

Printing this may help you

As you have a variety of issues, I suggest you proceed as follows:
Download the latest version of CWShredder Here by Merijn Bellekom, the creator of Hijack This. Check for updates!!
Run it, press 'Fix', and allow it to fix all it finds.
Next;

Download Spybot - Search & Destroy Here

After installing, you MUST first press Online, and search for, put a check mark at, and install all updates.
Next, close all Internet Explorer windows, hit 'Check for Problems', and have SpyBot clean all the items marked in red.

Next;

Now download Ad-Aware Here
After installing AAW, and before running the program, you NEED to FIRST update the reference file following these instructions. Here

Now do the following:

- Under Ad-aware 6 > Settings (Gear at the top) > Tweaks > Scanning Engine:
check: "Unload recognized processes during scanning."

- Under Ad-aware 6 > Settings (Gear at the top) > Tweaks > Cleaning Engine:
Check: "Let Windows remove files in use after reboot."

Press "Scan Now"

- Check option "Use Custom scanning options"
- Check option "Activate In-Depth Scan"
- Press "Select drives\folders to scan"
- Select the active partition which is usually C:

Now press "Next" to let Ad-aware scan your drives...
It will find a number of "bad" files and registry keys. Click 'Next' again
Right-click in that pane and choose "select all"

If it finds "bad" files and registry keys, press "Next" again
It will ask you whether you'd like to remove all checked items. Click OK.

Finally, close Ad-Aware.

Next;

Run this Peper trojan uninstaller,
Download it Here Click on the peperfix link, and download the program. Then go off line, and run the program. It will remove the files, leaving one entry to be cleaned up with Hijack this.

Next;

You are running hijackthis out of a temporary directory. Can you please create a folder in My Documents and call it Hijack (or something similar) like this C:\My Documents\hjt\HijackThis. Then extract hijackthis into the folder you have created and run it from there. The reason for this is that Hijackthis cannot create the backup files that you may need whilst it is being run from a temporary folder.

Next;

Update HijackThis to version 1.98
• run HijackThis
select config> misc tools and select "update online". then yes.
Run a scan and post a new Hijackthis log after you are done.

Hi there,

For some reason you are still posting the old version.

Please do this;

Download 'Hijack This!'. Here

Then delete the other copy that you have.

Hi there,

Please do this;

Make sure all browsers and windows are closed except for hijackthis and put a check against the following and click 'fix checked';

R0 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Start Page = http://super-spider.com/hp.htm?id=9

R0 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Toolbar,LinksFolderName =

O4 - Global Startup: Microsoft Office.lnk = C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office10\OSA.EXE<<<<These items are considered to be resource hogs that are not needed and it may be worthwhile to fix them with HJT. You will still be able to start them manually if you need them...

O4 - Global Startup: winlogin.exe

Restart your computer in
Safe Mode Also make sure you show hidden and system files Then delete the following files or folders as indicated below if they still show:

Not all or any of these may still show,

C:\WINDOWS\System32\gsn5ay17yxbk.dll<<<<File
C:\PROGRA~1\COMMON~1\WinTools\WToolsB.dll<<<<Folder
C:\Program Files\Viewpoint\Viewpoint Manager\ViewMgr.exe<<<<Folder

Reboot, then post a fresh logfile so that I can check to see if it is clean.

Hi there,

CWShredder did work it has taken super-spider off your log.

Please do this now;

Make sure all browsers and windows are closed except for hijackthis and put a check against the following and click 'fix checked';

R0 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Start Page = http://www.windowws.cc/hp.htm?id=9

O2 - BHO: (no name) - {467FAEB2-5F5B-4c81-BAE0-2A4752CA7F4E} - C:\WINDOWS\System32\cxe7mv05rp0w.dll

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [romahere] C:\WINDOWS\System32\matrixhere.exe
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [pnpsvc_lock] C:\WINDOWS\System32\68890.exe

O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [romahere] C:\WINDOWS\System32\matrixhere.exe

O15 - Trusted Zone: *.greg-search.com

O20 - AppInit_DLLs: 48xmrcom3c.tlb

Restart your computer in
Safe Mode Also make sure you show hidden and system files Then delete the following files or folders as indicated below if they still show:

Not all or any of these may still show,

C:\WINDOWS\System32\cxe7mv05rp0w.dll<<<<File
C:\WINDOWS\System32\matrixhere.exe<<<<File
C:\WINDOWS\System32\68890.exe<<<<File

Reboot, then post a fresh logfile so that I can check to see if it is clean.

Hi there,

Your log is still showing a CWS variant, run CWShredder again, clicking "fix", without any windows open. Now run a fresh log

I have done exactly what you told me to do. I am totally frustrated. You keep asking me to do the same thing over and over again. It isn't working. I am running the softwares correctly.

I appreciate your help. I really do. But do you know how to fix this or not. The HJT only allows me to temporarily get to my pages. Shredder does absolutely nothing. Adware finds all kinds of registry keys but doesn't stop the super-spider or windowws.cc/hp from redirecting my browser.

Please help.

Hi

I will be assisting with your log from now.

This particular infection that you have is a reasonably new one that has not yet got a definitive answer. The top experts are still working on to perfect an easy cure.

Here is a link to one of the experts postings http://www.wildersse...85&postcount=28

His advice was being followed by 12g, but it does not seem to be working.
=================================

I will be reviewing this topic with all that has been tried, in the mean time hijackthis has been updated twice since your version (the last one just yesterday).
Please get the latest version (1.98.2) from
http://www.downloads.../hijackthis.zip
as you did before delete all the old versions and put in its own folder.
This FAQ page can help you get the unzipping and copying to a folder right (if you require.)
http://www.russellte...qhijackthis.htm

Please post back with a new hijackthis log when done.

The trick would be to delete the file before you reboot.

If you do not have it - please get Ad-aware from this link, update the data file and set up to run with the setting from this page http://www.cjwd.demo...ot-adaware.html. DO NOT RUN YET.

Please check out any of the links to information like hidden and system folders before starting the process.

Reboot to safe mode (F8 on boot).

Use 'ctrl' + 'alt' + 'del' (Three keys together) to get taskmanager. Find these processes and 'end task' them.
OR
Use the process viewer in Hijackthis, Config, Misc Tools, Process Viewer, to unload the following running processes.

These processes may not be running because we are in safe mode - but please check and end task if possible.

C:\WINDOWS\System32\matrixhere.exe
C:\WINDOWS\System32\129005.exe

Check these in hijackthis, AND WITH ALL OTHER WINDOWS CLOSED, fix checked.

This next bit MUST be done before you reboot.
Then delete the following files/folders:-
NOTE: To avoid the risk of any of the above not being found due to them having the 'Hidden' attribute, first make sure that in Folder Options > View hidden and operating system files are set to show:

File > > C:\WINDOWS\bad3074.exe
File > > 48xmrcom3c.tlb - (You will need to find - Probably in the c:\windows or c:\windows\system32 folders)

Now run ad-aware with the setting given before.

Then Reboot and post a fresh log for me to check.

Well apart from one line you look very clean - So I think you did it. :)

The line I have a problem with is this - and it may be that you have put it there for a reason, it just looks out of place.

O4 - Global Startup: winlogin.exe

This should be visible in your startup menu. If you put it in there no problem, if not remove from the startup menu group and it should be no problem for the future.

BTW WinXP SP2 is now available for download.

This is my normal post for when you are clear - which you now seem to be - please advise of any problems :-
------------------------
How on earth did I get infected with all that spyware in the first place?
http://www.net-integ...=ST;f=38;t=3051
Also available from here :- http://www.computerc...tlite7736-.html
or http://boards.cexx.o...topic.php?t=957
--------------
Look at the info on my website regarding malware (Link below). Some things you can do to stop getting infected again:-

Spybot s&d, Ad-aware Run weekly - or after a heavy internet session.

Spywareblaster & Spywareguard, first sets kill bits to stop known bad activeX controls installing, second acts like your AV to stop browser hijacks and installing of known badies.

Also ie-spyad (Link on my site), puts 4000 bad sites in your restricted (banned) sites list, to stop you accidentaly getting sent to a bad site, it has optional list of "bad" adult sites to install as well.

All those with links from my site. Do remember just like Anti-Virus they need to be updated regularly, I do mine weekly, Anti-Virus hourly.

With these and a firewall in place I have to try various bad sites when checking peoples hijackthis logs looking to sort bad from good, and I have not yet been infected. Still time for it to happen LOL.
