I was wondering if there are posts in this forum on Merijn's program, "BugOff".
I did a search on it, but didn't find anything.
The only information I've found is on his site, but I
would like to know if others are using it and if
it is as helpful as his other programs.
just curious.....

Here's a rather self-explanatory screenshot... :)

From what I understand, you'll have to toggle protection on and off according to specific circumstances... It's not something you can apply once and for all, as some Windows components may not work correctly.

Best,
R.

will not display messages.

Hi Taylor,

Yes, that is a problem with Bugoff. It happens with the mhtml exploit set to disabled. Merijn is aware of it and that is partly why those notes are added at the bottom of the app (in the latest version). I'm not sure what he is able to do about it though. :scratchhead: There is another program that target's 2 of the 3 exploits that bugoff does (and a TON of others). It's called Quik-Fix. Free download:

Thanks to radio_pcps over at CC and fredvries for the info on Quik-Fix.

:D Appreciate very much comments by members on new programs as I don't like to download a security program only to find that there are hidden features that I have to struggle through and then end up uninstalling. I always try to read before I press the button.......saves a lot of frustration...ciao!!!

Taylor you might consider ditching Outlook express.
Please note that the software I recommend above is entirely based on only my own experience and testing. In no way should my comments, opinions and endorsements be construed as an endorsement by the forum, nor do they reflect the advise or recommendations by the experts or helpers at spywareinfo.

I have thought about getting rid of Outlook Express.
I'm not too crazy about it; however, I share this computer/
mailbox with some roommates who like it.
I usually stick with the old free yahoo mail!!!!!
:p
Tacky, I guess, but effective!!!!

Where is a good link that lists the security flaws of
Outlook Express that I can somehow sneak into the mail

for them to read?

Disabling the VBscript gives you a lovely blank white screen for Windows Update. Took me weeks to figure that one out

Script error as follows:

Line: 72
Char: 3
Error: Automation Server Can't Create Object
Code: 0
URL: http//windowsupdate.microsoft.com/
"Baldness is a sign of distinction"
