Hi all -
I've tried using the 'search' function in the forum archives here, but I'm not getting any hits on my question, so thought I'd post this here and see what the "experts" have to say.
I'm looking for the best FTP program for uploading website files, one that's preferably easy to use for the technically-challenged, and of course - one without annoying spyware associated with it like some progs out there have a reputation for ...
Thanks in advance for helpful responses!

Best FTP prog sans spyware?

I have used WS-FTP for several years, and never had a problem with it. No ads, and easy to setup/use. To log on, upload a file and log off takes about 1 minute! (for the average webpage)
Be wary of strong drink. It may make you shoot at tax collectors, and miss!

If you're a student, teacher, or government employee, you'll get WS-FTP LE free of charge, and it's quite a nice program. I've used it since 1998 and I've not once had a problem with it.

Thanks all for these responses thus far (sorry for delaying a reply to you myself!).
I have prior experience using WS_FTP LE (been a while though, so I'm rusty), but the host our non-prof signed up with actually dis-recommends using it and lists several instead on their 'preferred' list that I'm not familiar with or I've heard in past may have some sort of 'spyware' issues (?) ... maybe I'll just try using WS_FTP anyway and see if it will work with these folks.
Once again, thanks.

WS_FTP LE is dead now. I received an email the other day from them, stating that they have WS_FTP Home for 30 day trial instead...

It's dead? Huh. I have the full installer for it sitting on an Everyone's Internet CD in my software vault. If anyone wants it, I'll be more than happy to provide it.

BulletProof FTP is an excellent ftp client, sadly you have to pay, however its only once and then it is unlocked forever. It uploads extremely fast I average over 10kbs on a dialup 56k modem.
