I have a broswer hijack that has somehow got onto my PC. I have read the FAQ section and I have installed Spybot, Adaware and Hijack this. I have used them all to try to clear the problem, which to be fair they do pick up on the problem and actually remove it.

Each of the programs above do pick up on the issue in the registry.

The problem is after 5/10 mins or so, it just comes back.

The page somehow copes itself with all of the images to the C drive of my PC. It creates a directory under program files. The name of this folder seems to change every few weeks.

Within this folder is a sub folder called Portal and within this the web page is copied. My browser resets itself with the path to this page.

The path for example at the moment is:
C:\Program Files\Plus18Point\Portal\portal.html

Any suggestions would be most helpful.

We need a closer look at what's happening.
Please download Hijack this
Copy it into its own folder, doubleclick HijackThis.exe, and hit "Scan".

When the scan is finished, the "Scan" button will change into a "Save Log" button.
Press that, save the log, do Ctrl-A to Select All, and copy its contents here. Most of what it lists will be harmless or even essential, don't fix anything yet.
Be wary of strong drink. It may make you shoot at tax collectors, and miss!

First, uninstall P2P Networking through Add/Remove Programs. If/when asked whether you also want to remove Altnet components, say 'Yes'.
P2P Networking is a totally useless Kazaa add-on, and it's been reported to be responsible for serious system slowdowns.

Have Hijack This fix all of the following by placing a check in the appropriate boxes and hitting fix checked. Make sure all browser and all Windows Explorer windows are closed before fixing.
