Dear Sir/Madam,

My computer keeps freezing. There are no warning signs or error notes. While using and in any programme it just stops. It is very annoying while working. Between 5 and 30 times a day.

I thought it may have been the fan, but that was cleaned and no difference.

Please help,

Windows Xp- bought in November 03. 1.5GHtz and 256Ram

Thanking you in advance.
Richard

Hello berro111
Try this go into Safe Mode by Rebooting Computer

Shut down Windows, and then turn off the power
Wait 30 seconds, and then turn the computer on.
Start tapping the F8 key. The Windows Advanced Options Menu appears. If you begin tapping the F8 key too soon, some computers display a "keyboard error" message. To resolve this, restart the computer and try again.
Ensure that the Safe mode option is selected.
Press Enter. The computer then begins to start in Safe mode.

Now in Safe Mode go to Start/Control Panel/Display
now in Display Properties click Settings, in the lower right click Advanced,
and then click the Troubleshoot Tab, now you will see the Hardware Acceleration Slider Bar slide it back one notch at a time this might take several attempts so be patient, you will have to restart the computer each time you adjust the Bar, from Safe Mode back to Normal Mode, and Visa Versa
Repeat the above steps until it is fixed. Reply back to let us know what happen's.
Thank You
