Hello,

Everytime I connect to the internet, my IE browser would automatically be directed to www.nubela.net/nubeeeee where it would then download a 'mediatickets' file along with some others, including "hah.exe" which would then run in the background. I have tried using Adaware and Spybot but they only get rid of the downloaded files but do not prevent my browser from going back to that nubela.net site.

This is my Hijack This log:

Hi,
NAVSCANNER32.EXE = WORM_RBOT.QC :alarm:

First thing to do is ...

Update Ad-aware's Reference File: instructions Posted Image here

Required Step: Posted Image Reconfigure Ad-Aware for Full Scan

Note: do not run Ad-Aware yet, just update and reconfigure.

Next:

Posted Image Reconfigure Windows Explorer to show Hidden Files: [required step]
Open the Windows Explorer | Tools | Folder Options - View [tab]:

Scroll down to the "Files and Folders" section.
Select: "Display the contents of system folders".

Scroll down to the "Hidden Files and Folders" section.
Select: "Show hidden files and folders", Ok the prompt
Uncheck: "Hide file extensions for known file types"
Uncheck: "Hide protected operating system files" Ok the Prompt, click Apply

Click the "Apply to all Folders" button. Close Windows Explorer.

Next:

Close all open programs and browsers, rescan with HijackThis
Place a check in each of the following then click "Fix checked".

O2 - BHO: (no name) - {000020DD-C72E-4113-AF77-DD56626C6C42} - C:\WINDOWS\twaintec.dll
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [Microsoft NT Update] svchosts.exe
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [NAVSCANNER32] NAVSCANNER32.EXE
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [Microszoft Update Machinezs] mscnsz.exe
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [ztdpygan] C:\WINDOWS\System32\zdablpu.exe
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [wjqt] C:\WINDOWS\wjqt.exe
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [alchem] C:\WINDOWS\alchem.exe
O4 - HKLM\..\RunServices: [Microsoft NT Update] svchosts.exe
O4 - HKLM\..\RunServices: [NAVSCANNER32] NAVSCANNER32.EXE
O4 - HKLM\..\RunServices: [Microszoft Update Machinezs] mscnsz.exe
O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [Microsoft NT Update] svchosts.exe
O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [NAVSCANNER32] NAVSCANNER32.EXE

Then reboot, on restart, restart in Safe Mode [required step - see "How To" below]

Start | Run (type) "%temp%" (no quotes)
Completely delete the entire contents of that "temp" folder.

Open Windows Explorer locate and delete the following:

C:\WINDOWS\System32\zdablpu.exe <--this file
C:\WINDOWS\wjqt.exe <--this file
C:\WINDOWS\twaintec.dll <--this file
C:\WINDOWS\twaintec.ini <--this file
C:\WINDOWS\alchem.exe <--this file
mscnsz.exe <--this file
Locate "mscnsz.exe" via Posted Image Start > Search > Advanced Options

C:\WINDOWS\System32\svchosts.exe <--this file
Note: do not delete: C:\WINDOWS\system32\svchost.exe

While still in Safe Mode, run Ad-Aware and fix everything it finds.

Restart normally and then ...

Visit Posted Image Windows Update and install all the "Critical Updates"

After the above ... Download Posted Image HijackThis! 1.98

After the above, reboot, rescan with HijackThis and post a fresh log ...

Hi,
Your log looks clean now ... good job!

Last Step:

1) Empty the Recycle Bin
2) "Flush System Restore" (see "How To" below)
Basically turn off System Restore, reboot, run a full (updated) NAV scan, reboot and turn System Restore back on and create a new Restore Point.

How To: Configure Norton AntiVirus to scan all files

I would suggest adding some "Defense" to your system ...
Posted Image How To: Prevent this from happening again?
