this is both a bump and a clarification, i need lspak.dll removed from the winsock its an O10 item in hijackthis (actually it shows up 4 times in a row for some reason [O10 - Unknown file in Winsock LSP: c:\winnt\system32\lspak.dll]), the lsp pages all sugest getting expert advice and, while i am a former IT professional , ive never dealt with this particualr area beforeand mostly im just looking for an afirmation, is lspfix really the best tool to use?

and im also jsut looking for a yes (i should let hijackthis fix it) or no (leave it alone) answer for my other question about that unknown entry

Lspak.dll is part of a known Hijacker.
Attempts to remove it using Hijack this will render the internt connectivity useless, and possible beyond repair!

As it may well be qccomanied by other things, I suggest that you post you Hijack this log, so we can see exactly what needs to be done.

Bump

i believe the only 2 issuse are the ones ive already asked about,

this unknown which im gonna have hijackthis fix unless someone tells me not to:
O3 - Toolbar: newinside - {C4C10528-A682-5717-4912-CC8EEE8971BD} - C:\PROGRA~1\DASHBI~1\Manager trust.dll

and the lspak.dll issue, which hijack this shouldnt be used for. my real question was and still is, is lspfix the right tool for this problem?

while i do appreciate more in depth help a simple "yes" or "no, use program x" would suffice

thanks

You are right, those are the only two items that need attention. The toolbar entry could well have been accompanied by other things!

Please download Lspfix
Unzip and run it. Check all instances of lspak.dll (and nothing else) , and move them to the "Remove" pane.
You will have to click the "I know what I'm doing" button.

Have Hijack This fix all of the following by placing a check in the appropriate boxes and hitting fix checked. Make sure all browser and all Windows Explorer windows are closed before fixing.

O3 - Toolbar: newinside - {C4C10528-A682-5717-4912-CC8EEE8971BD} - C:\PROGRA~1\DASHBI~1\Manager trust.dll

Reboot after fixing.
Be wary of strong drink. It may make you shoot at tax collectors, and miss!
