I posted about 10 days ago re: my hijacked browser. Wanted to thank all who responded again for the knowledgable advice. Have a new question - just a general one. Have an older Sony Vaio PC i need to dispose of. What do you recommend as the best way to cleanout the hard drive so I can feel comfortable recycling it or putting out in the trash? Want to make sure that no personal info or files will be left for someone to access.

Thank you and a question

two options..
1. Find a zero-write/fill utility.
Here is one..

2. Remove the hard drive and recycle everything else.

Woah woah! DONT THROW IT OUT! There are plenty of people here that would like to have it as a test machine.

How would I work passing along this PC as a test machine? Plus I still would have to clean it out first. We have a computer recycle day twice a year here and the county fixes up whatever they can for schools. So that is an option, but trash is my last resort.
