im running Windows XP and i have a bunch of random processes in the background running, sometimes if i run a program that requires a good amount of memory, these random .exe files start using more, thus slowing down my computer to an extremely slow speed. Some of the file names are BPaE.exe, GqzhMO18.exe, and just random looking names. has anyone ever delt with this problem, if so please help! thank you

You need to run windows update. Your Internet Explorer is a few updates behind.

You are infected with the peper trojan. Run this uninstaller:

http://www.memorywat....com/uninst.exe

You need to be online in order to use the uninstaller and allow access through your firewall. Failure to let it connect, will result in incomplete removal and possible reinfection.

Then reboot and run another hijackthis scan and post your new log here.

The peper entry is still showing in your log. Try running the uninstaller again. Make sure you allow it to connect to the internet.

If you are having trouble with that uninstaller you can try this one.
http://www.computerc...s-file-330.html

Run another hijackthis scan. Place a check next to the following entries, then close all other windows and click the fix button.

R0 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Local Page = C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\blank.htm
O3 - Toolbar: (no name) - {E0E899AB-F487-11D5-8D29-0050BA6940E3} - (no file)

Next download spybot and adaware. Update and scan with both. Have spybot fix anything it lists in RED and adaware fix everything it finds. Then reboot and run another hijackthis scan and post your new log here.

Your log looks good.

You should read this to help prevent future problems.

So how did I get infected

You can just add the item to the ignore list.

Run another adaware scan.
When the list of detected items is shown, right click on the one you would like to add to the ignore list and select "add to ignore list". And you should be on your way.
