I find wintools (wintoolsA etc.) to be some of the worst spyware that I have to deal with - so...

Does anybody know where it comes from? And if so - how can I block it at the firewall level so that NOBODY can download it again???

Thanks for any and all help,

I have the same questions, but can't seem to get a reply about who wrote it and what information its collecting and where the information is being sent (see my post). It seems that this should be fairly easy for the right kind of person to track down. Good luck on getting an answer.

The version of Wintools you're talking about appears to be a bastardized version of Huntbar that's been made a heckuva lot harder to remove. Don't know if Ad-Aware and SS&D handle it yet.

Fear it; it's a _PAIN_ to remove.
Signature file is under revision. This will be back shortly.
