I just noticed a program in my Control Panel - "Search Assistant - My Search" I don't know how I got it, but I don't think it has been there long. I am always looking in my Add/Remove Programs. Anyway to make a long story short, the reason I happened to see it, is because in IE i clicked on search (the toolbar button) and I was going to customize, but when the side panel opened it was blank and when I clicked on customize a popup window appeared also blank. I really never have bothered with it before since I just use the Google search bar or Google deskbar

1. Does anyone know why that would happen in I.E.?

2. Is Search Assistant - My Search some kind of spyware?

I don't have any problems, Windows all updated, Spybot 3.1 and Adaware just updated All checked out clean.

Thanks

Hi

I have found a tweak if you are interested in changing. I dont think it is spyware just a help tool you can use . Quite handy to use to look up topics without flicking between screens.
