Hey, I'm using Win 98, and was adding to my hosts file. It usually asks, when opening, to choose the program to open it, and I use notepad. But I accidentally left the box, "Always use this program, checked. Now I'm worried the hosts file won't work anymore. It's still called hosts.sam, but has the icon of Notepad, and automatically tries to open though Notepad. I noticed that one thing I had blocked, itxt.vibrantmedia.com, which creates the double underlines under certain words on some sites, and turns them into links, was back. Is the hosts file still working, and something is just wrong with that, or what?

Thanks for any advice!

Hosts.sam won't do a thing. The file for preempting DNS is named just plain hosts, with no extension.

Get Hosts File Reader to see and edit it.
