      IE 11 copy/paste problem

It has come to our attention that people using Internet Explorer 11 (IE 11) are having trouble with copy/paste to the forum. If you encounter this problem, using a different browser like Firefox or Chrome seems to get around the problem. We do not know what the problem is, but it seems to be specific to IE 11 and we are hopeful that Microsoft will eventually fix it.

Internet surfing chaos!

6 posts in this topic

I would very much appreciate some expert advice. Since going to Broadband (Tiscali (UK)) surfing the net has become a nightmare, I currently run the Zone Alarm firewall, AVG Anti Virus, Ad-Aware, Spy-bot, SpySweeper and Spyblaster and still have ongoing problems with freezing and crashing Explorer Windows, strange toolbars, being redirected to search pages. Interestingly on top of this searching to get the Hijack This software and these forums also took me along time due to sites not coming up and being replaced with search windows, its almost as if my computer infiltrators know I'm looking for stuff to get rid of them!!!

Also AVG is picking up an infected file "Java/ByteVerify" that it cannot fix and I cannot find.

Here is my log, thanks very much for any time you can give it. Cheers.

HEllo there!

1) You have a Peper infection, goto http://members.shaw.ca/techcd/VB_Projects/PeperFix.exe to download the PeperFix tool, save it to your desktop, doubleclick on it, click 'Find and Fix' and reboot if prompted.

2) Please update and run (one at a time of course!) Spybot and Adaware. I know you say you've already done this, but please check that you were using updated files. Also, Spybot's new version is 1.3. You can download the new version through the link at the bottom of this post. I

3) Pleae choose one of the online virus scanners listed here and run it. Make sure you have the "autoclean" option selected.

4) Reboot and post a fresh HijackThis log to this thread.

Thanks very much for your help :D

I followed your instructions and the Peper removal software did not work. I have spent the weekend trying to do this but it is still there! I did the online virus check and three Trojans are listed Femad B (twice); Exploit Bytverify and Dialer BS.

You are a genius! :D This seems to have fixed my problems, no internet freezing and crashing, quicker responses and no extra toolbars :D

Also AVG is no longer identifying the "Java/ByteVerify" virus it could not remove.

Here is my latest log:

You're very welcome! Here are some things to think about and do:

Protection - download and install:

SpywareBlaster will block bad ActiveX and malevolent cookies. http://www.javacoolsoftware.com/spywareblaster.html

IE-SPYAD puts over 4000 sites in your restricted zone so you'll be protected when you visit innocent-looking sites that aren't actually innocent at all.

http://www.staff.uiuc.edu/~ehowes/resource.htm#IESPYAD

Both are very small free programs that you run once, and then just occasionally to check for updates.

And also see

So how did I get infected in the first place?
