:( After connecting to the internet through my ISP, when opening my IE browser, the home page address (URL) changes to having a prefix of my c drive, with a number of folders and files etc before the home page address. (exact address reads C:\Documents and Settings\Michael\local Settings\Temp\Beepsave intra.htm#file *then the normal home page address*. This leads to a "page cannot be displayed" page. I have tried adaware, spybot, with no luck. Does anyone have any answers/ideas. The Hijack This log is a follows:

Purcy, welcome.

Download CWShredder from the link below
http://www.spywarein.../cwshredder.zip

Boot into Safe Mode by tapping F8 key at bootup.

Then unzip and run it with all browser windows closed.
Click on Fix to have it remove all it finds.

Start HijackThis and tick the boxes next to all these, then close all browser and explorer windows, and tell HijackThis to "Fix checked" if still present.

The Temp folder should be cleaned out periodically and Index.datdat Suite helps with this.

Reboot and install all prevention in the links below then tell all your friends how to not be infected on the Internet.
Install IE-SPYAD and SpywareBlaster updated regularly available in the following links .

Thanks Yokenny, I have completed what you have laid out and I am almost there. My browser now does not redirect, but now only states that that it cannot find the required web page, on all pages I try to access. New Hijack This Log as follows. Any ideas? (As you can see, there are now entries that were not present on the previous log)

:( Could some other reason, other than Spyware/malware, be behind the inability for IE to connect to the net? Does anyone have any ideas?

I have worked it out!! The final problem, I think, had nothing to do with bad stuff. Basically, after YoKenny pointed me in the right direction with the registry problems, the final problem about not being to able to connect to to the internet was with my Pc-Cillin virus protection software.

The major problem I had however, was with Spyware/Malware, whatever it is called, and without the help of YoKenny I would still be stuck. :D :D

YoKenny, you're a legend. If you're ever in Darwin Australia, give me a call and I will buy you a beer, or two!!! :D :D
