      IE 11 copy/paste problem

It has come to our attention that people using Internet Explorer 11 (IE 11) are having trouble with copy/paste to the forum. If you encounter this problem, using a different browser like Firefox or Chrome seems to get around the problem. We do not know what the problem is, but it seems to be specific to IE 11 and we are hopeful that Microsoft will eventually fix it.

      UPDATE on Upgrade   02/07/2017

We were somewhat delayed on getting the upgrade done, but it looks like it will now be done in the next few days or possibly even later today.   There is one change coming with the new upgrade that may affect people when they log in. There will no longer be separate Usernames and Display Names. Your Display Name will now be the only name you have for the forum and, if you used your Username to log in, you will now need to use your Display Name. It is likely that everyone who visits after the upgrade will need to log in again, so please keep this in mind.   Update again - Feb 7 - We have completed the main part of the upgrade and we are working to tweak settings for the site.  It will probably take us a while, but we will eventually settle down to the way we want it.  In the meanwhile, your posts should be secure, but the look of the forum and some functions may change over time.

We backup daily at 9:00 PM Pacific Time   02/13/2017

You may notice the forum being unresponsive for a few minutes around 9:00 PM PST (11:00 PM CST, 5:00 AM GMT) while we back up the database.

Notifications blocked by Outlook.com, Hotmail, Live, etc   02/14/2017

Our notifications are blocked by those mail servers. If you have email address at Hotmail, Hotmail.uk, etc etc then you will not get notifications and need to manually check for new replies. We recommend Gmail.   The notifications won't even be in your Spam folder - they just go down a black hole.

Hello I would like to learn and help people in this war on spyware/malware. One of the helpers recently assisted me in removing CWS and I would like to return the favor by helping others. Also it certainly looks like you have your hands full, judging by all the posts in malware removal each day.

I am an experienced computer support person. I located you site when caught in the Coolweb mess. TWith help from your forums I found my own cure before it was known this was a 2 stage infection. I would like to share my knowledge and assist others. Know one should have to waste the time I did. I helped several others clear the infection before your helpers came up with easier cures than mine. Please consider me for Boot Camp. Thanks.

Hi,

Had my first browser hijack infestation in May - fixed with help from the guys at Net-Integration.

Just had another and, since no answer came from NI, I decided to fix it myself. It appears to have worked. As it was clear both from the pinned notes and from the sheer number of posts that this problem is growing and the group helping people is struggling to cope, I thought I would offer to assist if possible.

Mark

I have been fighting parasites with credible programs, tools and know how learnt thru browsing various forums specifically here since the day I came to know of their existence. Having helped people in the real world I now wish very much I could be of some help in here as well as learn more and help more. Sign me up if you would, at the very least consider and I would be honored to be a member in this boot camp. I hate parasites. :techsupport:

I work as an Application Analyst in a computer department of a company in North Belgium (the Dutch speaking part).

My job doesn't require any computer knowledge, but I need to know as much as possible about the current application.

I'm a kind of buffer between USERS and TECHNICAL PEOPLE (database designers, programmers, ...)

One big disadvantage of this job : if something goes wrong, they blame me on both sites :weep:

I have a general knowledge of pc, because I talk alot with programmers and I have a pc at home of course, but I'm certainly not a computer expert.

I'm not a big fan of titles either, but I fully understand why these titles are necessary in this forum. (I prefer teamwork without hierarchy)

At this moment, I'm a moderator at a Free Lotto Forum, but since the Free Lotto World is dying, I'm really bored and I know more than enough about Free Lottos. (I wasn't happy becoming a moderator, because members didn't talk to me the same way as before)

So I need something NEW to make myself usefull.

I consider the whole damn "Malware World" as a waste of time, talent and money in any possible way, but I need something that forces me to learn software more thoroughly.

Besides malware, I hope I'm going to learn alot more about different kinds of softwares and I also like to help people.

I just found this board from a g4techtv forum. I've from the old techtv boards and several folks helped me with problems. I felt helpless to repay them. Maybe I just found a way. Count me in and I'll be available as much as I can.

Hi Spy guys; I am retired and available on a very expansive level. I would like very much to help participate in the spyware bootcamp program. My curiosity has taken me far and I enjoy defeating the forces of malware. Please consider this application and turn me loose on the bad guys. Thanks, J.R.

I would like to learn. I have problems with my own machine and more and more infected people ask me to help with their machines and I just cannot seem to do it anymore as my methods are not up to date. In fact I managed to crash the neighbors computer as some malware was blocking my attempts.

So definite time to get up to speed to what is happening. As if I dont have enough on my plate learning CSS and usability design.

Thanks!

Daniela
