      IE 11 copy/paste problem

It has come to our attention that people using Internet Explorer 11 (IE 11) are having trouble with copy/paste to the forum. If you encounter this problem, using a different browser like Firefox or Chrome seems to get around the problem. We do not know what the problem is, but it seems to be specific to IE 11 and we are hopeful that Microsoft will eventually fix it.

Virus help? ;__;

10 posts in this topic

I've tried asking around and had no luck with my problem. Everytime I run Ad-Aware, I get one or two Win32.Small.Trojan viruses. I delete them but they keep coming back. I run Spybot, Ad-Aware, Trojan Remover, The Cleaner, and a few other virus cleaning programs, but nothing seems to work. Is there any way I can manually delete these viruses so they can't come back?

Any help is appreciated, thank you.

We need a closer look at what's happening.

Please download Hijack this

Copy it into its own folder, doubleclick HijackThis.exe, and hit "Scan".

When the scan is finished, the "Scan" button will change into a "Save Log" button.

Press that, save the log, do Ctrl-A to Select All, and copy its contents here. Most of what it lists will be harmless or even essential, don't fix anything yet.

For that error message, see here

First, uninstall P2P Networking through Add/Remove Programs. If/when asked whether you also want to remove Altnet components, say 'Yes'.

P2P Networking is a totally useless Kazaa add-on, and it's been reported to be responsible for serious system slowdowns.

Have Hijack This fix all of the following by placing a check in the appropriate boxes and hitting fix checked. Make sure all browser and all Windows Explorer windows are closed before fixing.

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [updmgr] C:\Program Files\Common files\updmgr\updmgr.exe

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [AltnetPointsManager] c:\program files\altnet\points manager\points manager.exe -s

O4 - Global Startup: loader.exe

O16 - DPF: {1D6711C8-7154-40BB-8380-3DEA45B69CBF} (Web P2P Installer) -

Reboot, and delete

folders

C:\Program Files\Common files\updmgr

c:\program files\altnet

These may be hidden files. See HERE for how to show hidden files.

Please post a followup Hijjack this log, and say if your problems persist.

@__@ Okay...I did the top half of that, was going to reboot, it loaded up Windows XP, but when I clicked on IE it shut down and gave me the IRQL blue screen, except it was different this time, had a part about dumping physical memory at the bottom. So I did a System Restore and was able to come and post a reply. Any ideas what's happening?
