      IE 11 copy/paste problem

It has come to our attention that people using Internet Explorer 11 (IE 11) are having trouble with copy/paste to the forum. If you encounter this problem, using a different browser like Firefox or Chrome seems to get around the problem. We do not know what the problem is, but it seems to be specific to IE 11 and we are hopeful that Microsoft will eventually fix it.

This is my sisters computer. She asked me to help remove the pop-ups from internet explorer. I downloaded spybot and adaware but when both programs finnish scanning, adaware gets close to 700 hits and spybot around 200, neither program can delete the spyware. I booted the comp up in safe mode and tried it again but had the same problem. I know its a mess but can someone look at my HJT log and see if they can find atleast a prog i can del manually so spybot and adaware can do their thing. I saw somthin from coolweb before so im gunna dl cool web shredder and run that while im waiting for a response here. any help would be greatly appreciated. thank you.

Yes, download and run CWShredder. Use the fix option, not the scan to remove anything it can.

Then from Add/Remove Programs, uninstall New net/newdotnet. If there is no entry for it, removal instructions can be found on the newnet website..

Then try Spybot/AdAware again, before posting an updated Hijack this log.

Dave thank you very much for the response. I did as you said and ran cwshreader, it came up with 5 hits and i let the program fix them. I proceded to remove newdotnet from add/remove programs (it was listed), then ran adaware and spybot again. And as before, both programs finnished their scan, i pressed select all delete selected, and both programs froze. Is there anything else I can do. here is my updated HJT log. thank you again.

That has thinned out the malware quite nicely. Now to complete the job.

You have the Peper trojan, which requires special treatment to put it out of your misery!

Please download and run this uninstaller.

Have Hijack This fix all of the following by placing a check in the appropriate boxes and hitting fix checked. Make sure all browser and all Windows Explorer windows are closed before fixing.

R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Bar = file://C:\WINDOWS\System32\SearchBar.htm

R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Connection Wizard,Shellnext = http://adserv.internetfuel.com/cgi-bin/omn...=82&PID=2&LID=3

R3 - Default URLSearchHook is missing

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [hcETpCG.exe] C:\documents and settings\steve\local settings\temp\hcETpCG.exe

Reboot, and delete

file

C:\documents and settings\steve\local settings\temp\hcETpCG.exe

These may be hidden files. See HERE for how to show hidden files. It would be worthwhile to empty the C:\documents and settings\steve\local settings\temp folder completely.

Please post a followup Hijack this log, and say if your problems persist.
