All right. I have run Ad-Aware 6, Spybot, CWShredder (and the proggy that is supposed to kill the anti-CWShredder proggy), and HiJack This!

I still have problems here, though, and I cannot seem to use the update function for CWShredder.

Here is my HJT log:

Your log looks clean. About the problem with the update feature it can be happening for many reasons. A few to list: firewall blocking the update or Merijn's site could be down (creator of CwShredder) and thats where he hosts it. Anyway the program hasn't been updated in at least 3 weeks. If you downloaded it anytime from there then you should have the newest version. If not you may download the new version from. http://www.spywarein.../downloads.html

Could you please elaborate on your current problems. :)

Hmm, well.

Often, when I open MSN, it will freeze and the transfer icon in my lower-right hand corner will stay lit while nothing else happens. Sometimes, after a long while, it will unfreeze. This is when I will run HJT and discover more CWS crap on my system.

Other times, I am forced to choose DISCONNECT and then reconnect to get my pages to work.

Also, I am unable to run anti-spyware programs like SpywareBlaster or Hitware. I am told that it is either in a bad sector of infected with a virus.

I am also still suffering from popups that tell me that "your computer is infected (DUH)" and I also get redirected occasionally to their damed search site.

Thanks for your help, RD. It's a relief to know that there are folks out there willing to devote their time to helping fight the people who devote their time to make my internet time a miserable experience.

Yeah, this CWS stuff still shows up in Adaware 6 scans (only 2 files - as tracking files apparently) but it isn't being found elsewhere now. I am still suffering from these freezes, though.

Well if you are still around. Please go to Start => Run => Type in MsConfig. Go to the startup tab. And check all the items. Next Post a new log. Do not restart it may start up processes you wouldnt like.
