Hi I've been hijacked by netsearchsoft at work. It's quite embarrasing as it keeps changes my favourites to include adult sites. My toolbars have also changed with one called intra grim which starts automatically and moves my others. :grrr: Its also causing my computer to generate a lot of errors while on the net. If anyone can help I would really appreciate it. Here is my log:

First of all could you click Start>Settings>Control Panel>Add or Remove Programs and uninstall 'Window Search', 'Window Searching', 'Lop.com', 'LOP SEARCH', 'Browser Enhancer', or 'Ultimate Browser Enhancer' if listed. You may be given a code to insert, do so and reboot when done.

If not listed there, click here, download and run this uninstaller. Reboot when done.

Click here to download Ad-Aware and install. Before scanning click on "check for updates now" to make sure you have the latest reference file. Then click the gear wheel at the top and check these options:

General> activate these: "Automatically save log-file" and "Automatically quarantine objects prior to removal"

Scanning > activate these: "Scan within archives", "Scan active processes", "Scan registry", "Deep scan registry", "Scan my IE Favorites for banned sites" and "Scan my Hosts file"

Tweaks > Scanning Engine> activate this: "Unload recognized processes during scanning."

Tweaks > Cleaning Engine: activate these: "Automatically try to unregister objects prior to deletion" and "Let Windows remove files in use after reboot."

Click "Proceed" to save your settings, then click "Start", make sure "Activate in-depth scan" is ticked green then scan your system. When the scan is finished, the screen will tell you if anything has been found, click "Next". The bad files will be listed, right click the pane and click "Select all objects" - this will put a check mark in the box at the side, click "Next" again and click "OK" at the prompt "# objects will be removed. Continue?".

Reboot when done. Rescan with HJT and post a new log here so that any remnants can be removed manually.

Also go to http://www.billsway.com/vbspage/ and scroll down to Registry Search Tool. Download, unzip and run RegSrch.vbs (you may need to enable your antivirus program to run the file).

Copy and paste this in the dialog box: system32.dll

After a while a prompt will come up. Click OK to write the results to wordpad and post them in your next reply.

RegScan said that their were no instances of system32.dll occuring

So far so good. Is there anything else needs doing?

Just a bit more. Make sure that you have no browser windows open as this could prevent the fix from working properly. Open HijackThis, scan and when complete, remove the following entries by checking the box to the left and clicking 'fixed checked':

R1 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Bar = http://netsearchsoft.../searchbar.html
O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [CashFiesta] C:\MY DOCUMENTS\PROMO\SUB GROUP\CASHFIESTA.EXE
<-- unless you know what this is and want to keep it

Otherwise, click here, for instructions on how to enable hidden files and folders to be visible. After enabling, find, zip and send this file:

C:\MY DOCUMENTS\PROMO\SUB GROUP\CASHFIESTA.EXE

to this e-mail address including a link to this thread in the body of the email.

Reboot when done, rescan with HJT and post a new log here for a final check over.

I have deleted all ref to netsearch in the HyjackThis log and also ref to base-line tool bar within the Log. I have also downloaded Browser Hyjack Blaster and this is set to run at start up. My PC is only effected when I start it up - with Browser Hyjack Blaster running this re-applies my browser settings automatically. The problem has not gone away but at least it is dealt with at the PC startu point. All the tool bars have gone because I deleted the base-line tool bar setting. Good luck with solving your problem.
cheers - srob
