What exactly happens when in Internet Explorer you click Tools->Windows Update?

You may need to shut down your firewall while installing the update(s).

This is what happens:

After selecting Windows Update from the Tools menu of IE, it takes me to the Microsoft Windows update website and everything seems to work normally, but when I select "Scan for Updates", the browser gets stuck displaying the message:

"Windows Update is looking for available updates... 0% complete"
I do not have a firewall enabled.

Could it be that maybe I don't need any updates at this time?

Thank you.

See "Scan hangs at 0%" here - http://v4.windowsupd...m/troubleshoot/

It also may help to scan again with HijackThis, tick this one and click Fix checked. Then reboot.
