      IE 11 copy/paste problem

It has come to our attention that people using Internet Explorer 11 (IE 11) are having trouble with copy/paste to the forum. If you encounter this problem, using a different browser like Firefox or Chrome seems to get around the problem. We do not know what the problem is, but it seems to be specific to IE 11 and we are hopeful that Microsoft will eventually fix it.

Trying to work out last problems

I've had a small (compared to other people's!) problem, and I thought I would run the HijackThis before continuing on. If someone could please take a peek and let me know what needs worked on, I would sure appreciate it! :p

Nothing obvious in your log.

Hi Dave! Thanks for your speedy reply! I'm glad there are no glaring problems! Here is a link to the last situation my computer was experiencing link to here

I figured out the Ad-Aware problem! Ad-Aware About:Blank problem

The virus problem has never shown itself again, even though I've run numerous scans, so I think I'm OK there.

I would still appreciate finding out how to update HijackThis software, if it needs done?

Thanks to you and all the other good people that help!

You are using the current version of Hijack this. The best way to check, is to redownload it if you need it again! Then you know you have the latest version.

Followup question, please .... simplest of questions, or so I thought!

I ran Norton Anti-Virus and it found something that it wanted removed, and said to then delete some Registry Keys. I followed their instructions (Start/Run/regedit) and then it says simply "Delete the Following Keys". The problem is, I have a huge tree on the left side and no visible keys to delete! How in the world do I find the 5 they want removed?! :wtf:

Thanks guys! You're the best!

The registry key you are looking for (example)HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run

To find it, click on the Plus(+) sign to the left of the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE. That will expand the subkeys.

Scroll down and find the Software entry.

Again, click on the + to expand the entries.

Repeat until you reach the key you want.

Hope that helps.

WARNING If you are uncertain about what you are doing, make a registry backup before editing the registry, and also set a restore point, just in case of accidents! Removal of the wrong key can render windows unuseable.

Dave, thank you, again!

I looked at the registry and none of the keys that Norton said to delete were present :hmmm: I'll rerun VirusScan and see if it's changed it's mind!

Ah well ... another day, another crazy computer!

Take Care,
