      IE 11 copy/paste problem

It has come to our attention that people using Internet Explorer 11 (IE 11) are having trouble with copy/paste to the forum. If you encounter this problem, using a different browser like Firefox or Chrome seems to get around the problem. We do not know what the problem is, but it seems to be specific to IE 11 and we are hopeful that Microsoft will eventually fix it.

Pop-ups randomly appear when I go to any website, often they appear even if there aren't any programs running. I would appreciate help quite alot. I've run Spybot and McAfee both fully updated, but the problems still persist. Each time they run, programs like CoolWWWSeach show up as listed, as well as adware. I ran CWShredder, but even that hasn't fixed it.

I ran HijackThis but I don't know which lines I can safely remove.

Please download Lspfix

Unzip and run it. Check all instances of inetadpt.dll (and nothing else) , and move them to the "Remove" pane.

You will have to click the "I know what I'm doing" button.

Have Hijack This fix all of the following by placing a check in the appropriate boxes and hitting fix checked. Make sure all browser and all Windows Explorer windows are closed before fixing.

I ran Lspfix and delted the .dll, ran HijackThis and had it remove the indicated lines. I deleted all the folders you asked me to, only WinTools wouldn't let me delete it. I noticed that the 04 line ending with WinToolsA.exe kept coming back everytime I restarted my computer even though I had removed it with HijackThis. I'm still getting tons of pop up things and Internet Explorers homepage is still locked to me.

I've posted an updated HijackThis log file.

I really appreciate your continuing to help me out.

Wintools can be a bit of a pain! Try this way.

Open Task Manager (CTRL-ALT-DEL), and end task on the wintools entry.

Then close task mamager, and delete the wintools folder.

The O6 entry in your log is what has locked the homepage. Fix this entry, and reboot.

O6 - HKCU\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Control Panel present

That will allow you to change your IE settings. You may have set this yourself, using Spybot's immunize function.

Thanks for all your help. I got rid of the 06 line, which freed up my IE settings. The WinTools process lines in Task Manager wouldn't let me end them. Since the error message I got when trying to delete the folder they're in said it couldn't delete because they were currently running, I thought about trying from Safe Mode. Luckily, it worked.

Without your guys help I'd never have gotten control of my computer again by any method short of reformatting the whole damn thing. Thanks so much.

You guys are awesome.

So, you're gonna laugh about this, but the pop ups aren't gone. I'll just be sitting at a site, not doing anything but reading, and ads for "Dish Installation" appear. As a note, these popups are running under IE, even though the only browser I have up is Mozilla. Does that mean anything?

Could there still be a line in here that I need to delete? I no longer have any idea where these things are coming from.
