Thank you for writing to Yahoo! Companion.

Thank you for taking the time to provide us with feedback about our
Anti-Spy Beta product. One of the key reasons we test products among a
limited audience is to better understand how we can improve and enhance
the user experience.

We have created Anti-Spy with the intent to provide users with tools
that help them manage their online experience. We agree that it is not
acceptable for companies to download applications to a users computer
without consent and a clear way to remove the application, which is
precisely why we are testing Anti-Spy.

It is important to note that there are a number of software programs
some users access daily, that are also ad supported. These are programs
that the user has knowingly and purposely installed (e.g. kazaa, divx,
etc.) and commonly have adware bundled as part of the package. Disabling
or removing this adware could prevent the ad supported software from
running correctly. We are evaluating a number of enhancements for
Anti-Spy, some including the ability to automatically detect these kinds
of software dependencies.

We value your feeback and will continue to evaluate and optimize our
products to best meet consumer needs.

Thank you again for contacting Yahoo! Customer Care.

I extremely dislike How you have set
this to ignore ADWARE by default. It is
very "sneaky" and suspucious trying to
get around the average user this way. I
check out and assist my entire family
when it comes to anything computer
related. I am hoping this toolbar will
help them out, not hinder us.
