Hi,

Great site! Thanks for producing such a helpful resource.

Problem:
First noticed hijacking world when recently opening Google. Found pop-up browsers all over the place.
Ran ad-aware and seems to have gotten rid of the pop-up problem.

Some problems are still persisting, however.

I can't connect to my router via: 192.168.1.1-
No ID and Password field (that normally appears) pops up. Instead the page first came back with a page the was from "Internet Optimizer" and said that I didn't have authorization to access that page, and displayed ad links I could go to-Yeah, thanks :p . After running ad aware it now comes back with:
"401 Authorization Required
This server could not verify that you are authorized to access. Either you supplied the wrong credentials(e.g., bad password), or your browser doesn't understand how to supply the credentials required."
:scratchhead: I have not seen it in this color either- white text on red background??

Also, can not get rid of MSCMS.DLL. Tried to remove this file and it says access denied.

Below is my HijackThis log:

Well it's nasty! fix it with Hijack this, and delete the file after rebooting.

Do I need all  of these http://...?

If you mean the O16 entries, there is no harm in fixing any and all of them. They are activex controls from various websites you have visited. If they are needed, they will be downloaded if you vusut the site again.
Be wary of strong drink. It may make you shoot at tax collectors, and miss!

Hi Dave,
Thanks for help with this!

========
Okay, I've HiJacked This the A.exe file, but I couldn't find it anywhere to delete it? Did you mean delete the backups that Highjack This produces? Can I delete all of those backups?

I still can't detel that MSCMS.DLL file? It's gotten a hold of something in the registry and wont let go-Access denied.

Still the same problem with the 401 Authorization? No change there.

Any thoughts?

Is this a virus/trojan of some sort?

Thanks again!!
