I ran version 1.97.7 on my XP machine and accidently had the last line checked and selected "Fix" -

017 - HKLM\System\CCS\Services\TCIP\..\{FCEC9F96-51D4-4E04-B5AA-C03346D5AC6A}: NameServer = 169.207.1.3

Now(surprise!) I can't get an internet connection. Can someone tell me how to reverse this TOTAL idiot move on my part.............................................

Hi Grogman,

Run HiJackThis, click Config, Backups and hopefully you'll be able to see the 017 that you deleted. Select it, click restore and Yes to accept.

Glad to have helped.

If you still have problems, post your HJT log here and let someone take a look at it.
