Can someone please help me with the CWS issue. I have been very frustrated with this for over a week now. I try to post a message and it takes me to a porn sites.

Basically I have all the programs needed: Norton, SpyBot, AdAware, Spy Sweeper, CWShredder, and HijackThis and it will not go away. It is bogging down my computer and taking forever to load even on start up. I have HSI connection and it is slower than dial-up 10 years ago. Can someone please help????? I would appreciate any and all advise. I do believe that I have the hidden dll file that keeps coming back.

Please help!!!!

Here is my HijackThis Log:

Move Hijackthis off your desktop (extract from zip)into a permanent folder. Example:
c:\program files\hijackthis\hijackthis.exe

This will allow backups to be made and saved By hijackthis in case something goes wrong.

Place a check next to the following entries, then close all open windows except hijackthis and click fix.

R0 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Search,CustomizeSearch = http://websearch.drs...esearch.cgi?id=
R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\SearchURL,(Default) = websearch.drsnsrch.com/q.cgi?q=
R3 - Default URLSearchHook is missing
O2 - BHO: (no name) - {00000000-0000-0000-0000-000000000221} - C:\PROGRA~1\Lycos\IEagent\CSIE.DLL (file missing)
O2 - BHO: (no name) - {01F44A8A-8C97-4325-A378-76E68DC4AB2E} - C:\WINDOWS\systb.dll (file missing)
O2 - BHO: (no name) - {83DE62E0-5805-11D8-9B25-00E04C60FAF2} - C:\WINDOWS\2_0_1browserhelper2.dll (file missing)
O2 - BHO: sr - {FC2593E3-3E5A-410F-AF3D-82613CCE58E5} - c:\windows\sr.dll
O2 - BHO: (no name) - {FDD3B846-8D59-4ffb-8758-209B6AD74ACC} - (no file)
O3 - Toolbar: (no name) - {2CDE1A7D-A478-4291-BF31-E1B4C16F92EB} - (no file)

Then reboot and run another hijackthis scan and post your new log here.

Can you tell me anything about this.

Thank you so much for your help. I have been so frustrated with this machine that I haven't spent much time on it (so sorry for not responding earlier).
There are a couple of new things happening now: CWShredder is not finding any infected areas; however, my home page is still going to about:blank. The computer is not as bogged down and you can actually get on the internet. The pop ups are minimal for now but again I know the CWS is still on the computer b/c the home page. Do you have any ideas about this?
I fixed the files you in HijackThis and rebooted and here is my new log info:

Also, the file you asked about:
spclnt256.exe this is something that appeared when I was downloading all of the programs for Adaware, Spybot, and HijackThis. I didn't delete it b/c I didn't know if it was needed to run the one of the programs. I will delete it and leave it in the recycle bin in case you think it is necessary.

Again, thank you so much. Any help to make this machine work right is much appreciated!!!!!! Also, how do I keep from getting CWS trojan in the future?

Sincerely,
Shaunna

I tried to delete the file spclnt256.exe and it would not delete, it keeps saying that another program is using it and to close the program but I didn't have any programs running. When I click on the icon it says it is a "simplify printing client". Any ideas?

Download this file from http://downloads.sub....org/dllfix.exe .

Preferably to Desktop. Double click on it and it being a self -extractor, will create its own folder. Open the folder and run Start.Bat from there. Run Option 1. which is "Run Find-All... ". Let it complete and there will be a pop-up window with a log.
Post that log here.

Open the dllfix folder and double click on Start.bat. At the main menu, click 2 (Run Fix) and enter.

At the second menu, click 2 (Run Fix without DLL name) and enter.

Your system will reboot in 15 seconds and begin the fix. When finished, there will be a log (logs.txt) in the dllfix folder. Copy it into your next reply with a new hijackthis log.

Check to make sure you have the most recent version of CW shredder (1.59)
If not you can download it here coolweb shredder, unzip and click fix.

Move Hijackthis off your desktop (extract from zip)into a permanent folder. Example:
c:\program files\hijackthis\hijackthis.exe

This will allow backups to be made and saved By hijackthis in case something goes wrong.

Place a check next to the following entries, then close all open windows except hijackthis and click fix.

R0 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Search,CustomizeSearch = http://websearch.drs...esearch.cgi?id=
R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\SearchURL,(Default) = websearch.drsnsrch.com/q.cgi?q=
R3 - Default URLSearchHook is missing

O3 - Toolbar: (no name) - {2CDE1A7D-A478-4291-BF31-E1B4C16F92EB} - (no file)

Next open adaware.
Check to make sure you have the most recent updates.

Now do the following:
- Under Ad-aware 6 > Settings (Gear at the top) > Tweaks > Scanning Engine:
check: "Unload recognized processes during scanning."
- Under Ad-aware 6 > Settings (Gear at the top) > Tweaks > Cleaning Engine:
Check: "Let Windows remove files in use after reboot."
Press "Scan Now"
- Check option "Use Custom scanning options"
- Check option "Activate In-Depth Scan"
- Press "Select drives\folders to scan"
- Select the active partition which is usually C:
Now press "Next" to let Ad-aware scan your drives...
It will find a number of "bad" files and registry keys.
Right-click in that pane and choose "select all"
Now press "Next" again.
It will ask you whether you'd like to remove all checked items. Click OK.
Finally, close Ad-Aware, and reboot.

Then run another hijackthis scan and post your new log here.

Again thank you for your assistance. Here is a little information that might assist you: The CWShredder removed files out of the CWS Searchx section. Also when I went to "fix checked" in the HijackThis log, all of the ones you wanted me to check were no longer present. How does that work? I save the log but when I open the program I have to run a new scan, should I be doing something else?

Here is the log:

Logfile of HijackThis v1.97.7
