And my processes:

I have a lot of problems with popups and my computer lagging and freezing. I have AdAware, Spybot S&D, SpySweeper & Norton Anti-virus. I run all of those programs usually at least once a day. If you can help me figure out what the heck I can do with my computer to restore it to normal working order, I would be so happy! I checked on answersthatwork.com for a list of things that could be closed or could be viruses, and that just made me more confused. That Rundll32.exe program--they contradict themselves by saying in one place that it is not a virus if it has a certain file location, but then later on in a different tab it says that if Rundll32.exe is running then you have a virus. So I am really confused and lost, and all this is making my brain go on overload. Thanks so much for your time.

Jessica -

I don't see the specific line in your "HijackThis" log, (Are you sure you copied the whole thing?), but the symptoms you are having are identical to a problem that's making the rounds right now.

Do this...

Do a FILE-FIND search on your machine to see if you have either of these two files:

MSITS.EXE and/or MSHTA.EXE

If you do, then you have the latest virus which is a combination worm & trojan, and nearly impossible to get rid of without a fresh OS re-install.

If you have either of these files, go to the top of this page and do a search for MSITS.EXE, and read my response to Jahrim's "Help Please" thread.

Bob
