      IE 11 copy/paste problem

It has come to our attention that people using Internet Explorer 11 (IE 11) are having trouble with copy/paste to the forum. If you encounter this problem, using a different browser like Firefox or Chrome seems to get around the problem. We do not know what the problem is, but it seems to be specific to IE 11 and we are hopeful that Microsoft will eventually fix it.

Dozens of Dial-Up Boxes!

9 posts in this topic

** Whenever I return to my computer after being off - there are dozens of dial up boxes on the screen. It is like "something" wants to connect to the internet when we aren't using the computer!

**My homepage is changed everytime I get on, no matter how many times I change it- 2 minutes later it is something else. (usually the page is "Spotresults")

**When I am on the internet--other windows are loading constantly! Sometimes the page I am going to gets taken over by another window saying that the page is not available, but if I go "back" , my page is there.

**Usually after being on the internet for a half hr or so, my computer freezes and I have to turn it off and start over!!

Hope you can Help me!

Thanks --

Lana

Please download Lspfix

Unzip and run it. Check all instances of inetadpt.dll (and nothing else) , and move them to the "Remove" pane.

You will have to click the "I know what I'm doing" button.

Have Hijack This fix all of the following by placing a check in the appropriate boxes and hitting fix checked. Make sure all browser and all Windows Explorer windows are closed before fixing.

Dave38,

Am I crazy? When I went to do what you suggested-- I couldn't find the ones you said to remove. Instead of "allaboutsearching" and "websearch"-- I now have "search200.com"!

Are they the same thing? So I downloaded Lspfix and did that part-- I have done nothing with the Hijackthis Log. I am reposting it --

Please forgive me if this is something any preschooler should know and I don't!!! My son was suppose to advise me but due to bad storms, he had to work!

Lana,

Thanks for the well wishes on my post yesterday. Kind of bummed no one responded with a fix but I kept searching.

I found a site that stated the same problem and someone was successfull with VX2Finder9x.exe. I had tried VX2Finder in the earlier but was only worked for NT. I searched for a 98 version and found it.

http://www.downloads.subratam.org/VX2Finder9x.exe

Ran it last night and so far so good!! Give it a shot.

Best of luck to you...I feel your frustration.

Looking better! You're doing well so far. A couple more odds & ends to shift.

Have Hijack This fix all of the following by placing a check in the appropriate boxes and hitting fix checked. Make sure all browser and all Windows Explorer windows are closed before fixing.

O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [eZmmod] C:\PROGRA~1\ezula\mmod.exe

O4 - Startup: Virtual Bouncer.lnk = C:\Program Files\VBouncer\VirtualBouncer.exe

Reboot and delete

files

C:\Program Files\ezula

C:\Program Files\VBouncer

These may be hidden files. See HERE for how to show hidden files.

Then you should be clean.

Please post a followup Hijack this log, and say if your problems persist.

It is a bit better. At least my home page stays the same now. I still have pop ups although not as many.

What about this VX2 finder? I got it and ran it -- but I am too scared to delete all of this. Please advise if this is stuff I need or not.
