      IE 11 copy/paste problem

It has come to our attention that people using Internet Explorer 11 (IE 11) are having trouble with copy/paste to the forum. If you encounter this problem, using a different browser like Firefox or Chrome seems to get around the problem. We do not know what the problem is, but it seems to be specific to IE 11 and we are hopeful that Microsoft will eventually fix it.

possible problem - REG:system.ini: UserInit=userinit.exe

5 posts in this topic

i scan my computer regularly with Ewido, Spybot and Adaware and although they come up clean i'm still having random bits of odd behaviour with a couple of programs; program crashing, plugin crashing and BSOD.

i spotted F2 - REG:system.ini: UserInit=userinit.exe within my HT log and have never seen it before... i've seen some other references to similar userinit.exe queries online but some of the advice conflicts.

so what is it, is it dangerous and how do i get rid of it?

here's my log...

Hello Jim Bingo, Welcome to SWI.

Userinit.exe is a program that restores your profile, fonts, colors, etc for your username.

Some XP operating systems do not have this item in the log. All of the entries are in the Registry. Set by the installation process. In your case I would not remove this item from the log.

I would investigate my BSOD problems using Google, the WEB and Groups sections.

If all fails and it does happen more and more I would look at repairing XP.
