Hi, First of all I'd like to thank all of the Helpers here at SpywareInfo. I've read thru some threads and you all have got it goin on......Heres my challenge. I've ran SpyBot S&D, didn't care for it much or I didn't know how to use it. I bought Spy Sweeper ran it....not to thrilled about it either but it works until I reboot my system or get online thru IE. Ad-Aware works great until again I re-boot or get online. I DLed HJ and ran it, followed instructions on the FAQ page, no help. Still getting jacked by about:blank and when I go online with my MSN butterfly I get booted after like 5 minutes. Here is my HJ log. Again I really appreciate in advance all the things you guys are doing for us victims.

Due to the number of infections that you have, can you please run through the following procedures and after you have completed them, reboot and post another HijackThis log into this message for further review:

Here is the latest HJL after running spy sweeper and adaware with curent updates. I didn't run spybot because I have spy sweeper. It didn't detect anything. Adaware detected quite a bit. The virus scanners wouldn't load so I dind't do those. The last time I ran Norton with current def. files it didn't find any viruses.

R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Page = file://C:\DOCUME~1\Aden\LOCALS~1\Temp\sp.html

Reboot, wait about an hour or so, then run HijackThis again and post another log - I would like to see if these entries come back - If they do, I have a few more things for you to try to remove the infection.

Your log is looking clean :)

Here are some tips, to reduce the potential for spyware infection in the future, I strongly recommend installing the following applications:
  • Spywareblaster <= SpywareBlaster will prevent spyware from being installed.
  • Spywareguard <= SpywareGuard offers realtime protection from spyware installation attempts.
  • How to use Ad-Aware to remove Spyware <= If you suspect that you have spyware installed on your computer, here are instructions on how to download, install and then use Ad-Aware.
  • How to use Spybot to remove Spyware <= If you suspect that you have spyware installed on your computer, here are instructions on how to download, install and then use Spybot. Similar to Ad-Aware, I strongly recommend both to catch most spyware.
To protect yourself further:
  • IE/Spyad <= IE/Spyad places over 4000 websites and domains in the IE Restricted list which will severely impair attempts to infect your system. It basically prevents any downloads (Cookies etc) from the sites listed, although you will still be able to connect to the sites.
  • MVPS Hosts file <= The MVPS Hosts file replaces your current HOSTS file with one containing well know ad sites etc. Basically, this prevents your coputer from connecting to those sites by redirecting them to 127.0.0.1 which is your local computer
  • Google Toolbar <= Get the free google toolbar to help stop pop up windows.
I also suggest that you delete any files from "temp", "tmp" folders. In Internet Explorer, click on "Tools" => "Internet Options" => "Delete Files" and select the box that says "Delete All Offline Content" and click on "OK" twice. Also, empty the recycle bin by right clicking on it and selecting "Empty Recycle Bin". These steps should be done on a regular basis.
