I have apparently been victimized by a browser hijack that keeps reverting my home page to a "Search Everything" page or "your-searcher.com" page.

I have also experienced slower browsing, freez-ups, pop-ups, and imported favorites.

I have scanned with both Adaware and Spybot. Both continually find malware and browser hijacking evidence, but when I have them removed or "problems fixed" it does not work. I have run the scans before and after reboots, and the software is updated.

I will proceed to download Hijackthis, and will post my log.

If I did anything wrong to this point, please let me know.

I just noticed the pinned thread on CoolWebSearch removal. Should I go back and try this first?

I tried the CWShredder. It said it found some things. I deleted them, rebooted, and continue to get the problem. I'm back at square one.
