      IE 11 copy/paste problem

It has come to our attention that people using Internet Explorer 11 (IE 11) are having trouble with copy/paste to the forum. If you encounter this problem, using a different browser like Firefox or Chrome seems to get around the problem. We do not know what the problem is, but it seems to be specific to IE 11 and we are hopeful that Microsoft will eventually fix it.

searchpage.cc problem

6 posts in this topic

Okay, I need some help here ... every time I launch internet explorer, I get sent to searchpage.cc. I'm experiencing a lot of the same problems as other people (can't change home page, added bookmarks, etc) ... HOWEVER, every time i try to download CWShredder, Hijack This, Bazooka or whatever, I get sent back to searchpage.cc ... I've run Ad-Aware and it did nothing. I'm sure you can see how this is getting frustrating. :techsupport: Anyway, can anyone help? Thanks in advance!

Try these alternate routes.

HijackThis direct download: http://209.133.47.12/~merijn/files/HijackThis.exe

CWShredder direct download: http://209.133.47.12/~merijn/files/CWShredder.exe

If you get them, install each in their own folders, run CWShredder, reboot and then run HijackThis. Save the logfile, copy it and paste it in a reply in this thread.

Glad you got HijackThis - it's better if you make a folder for it instead of just putting it on your C: drive - the backups it makes will be spread around drive C: - eventually you'll want to delete them and that's easier if they're in the same folder (something like C:\HJT\HijackThis.exe).

You have a CoolWebSearch infection (and others as well), so install CWShredder into its own folder and run it. Reboot and run another HijackThis scan and post a new log and we'll deal with what's still there.
