I just picked up a spyware program that has reset my browser to something called home search assistant. Spybot and Ad Aware don't recognize it. It shows up on my program list in my control panel but won't allow me to remove it. I've downloaded and run Hijack this, and this is the log. Thank you in advance for any help you can give me.

Thanks. I'll give them a try. Although a propane torch is starting to sound like the better bet.

A short term solution that a friend suggested was to download the mozilla firefox browser. It's free and unaffected by the IE hijacker. You can transfer your bookmarks, too.

I tried the solutions in the Vulcano posting but no dice. Any other thoughts?

Thanks.
