You do have to understand some basic concepts about TCP/Ip though, otherwise you will be bothered constantly by permission popups (by setting too strict rules e.g. failing to recognise the concept of ephemeral versus service ports)), or you will end up using extreme wide rules that you might as well be using a application based firewall like ZA free,Many of us prefer 2.15, nice interface and very easy rule making.
When it pops up a box, just tell it to make a rule. Allow if you know what the thing is and want it to access the net, otherwise select Block for the rule. When you get more experienced with it, right-click icon, select Administration and then click Advanced, and you can edit your rules to make them more specific.
