Please help I am having problems with my pc, when I right click on desktop to create a new folder it hangs for around 20 seconds before allowing me to proceed I feel this is spyware or a keylogger I have added a log from hijackthis below: I have read the FAQ and scanned with both spybot and ad-aware.

355 views certainly, but all of them people like you looking for a fix! Some posts just fall through the cracks, I'm afraid. However this should help.

Have Hijack This fix all of the following by placing a check in the appropriate boxes and hitting fix checked. Make sure all browser and all Windows Explorer windows are closed before fixing.

R0 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Local Page =
R3 - URLSearchHook: (no name) - _{CFBFAE00-17A6-11D0-99CB-00C04FD64497} - (no file)

Reboot after fixing.

Please post a followup Hijack this log, and say if your problems persist.

Have Hijack This fix all of the following by placing a check in the appropriate boxes and hitting fix checked. Make sure all browser and all Windows Explorer windows are closed before fixing.

O2 - BHO: Shorty - {5C472352-90D0-4214-BF20-8E4A2B82F980} - (no file)

O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [Instant Access] rundll32.exe p2esocks_1015.dll,InstantAccess

Reboot and delete

files
p2esocks_1015.dl

These may be hidden files. See HERE for how to show hidden files.

Havr you tried an on line Anti virus scan? If not go to either Housecall or Panda A/V, and see if that finds anything.

I can see nothing else in your log that would cause problems.

Problem still exists :weep: can anyone please help ?

I'm just curious, when did this problem start to happen?

I'm just making a few stabs in the dark here.. but...

1) You have two sets of utilities for graphics cards installed - for both ATI and Nvidia cards, which do you use? You should remove the drivers/utilities for the one that you do not have. This could potentially cause some problems.. but perhaps not the one described.

2) The problem may not be spyware - the program StyleXP may have a bug. Have you tried removing this as it seems to me that it may directly relate to the desktop/User interface.

Your problem may not be spyware, but if it only happens on the desktop, I wonder if the 'active desktop' is enabled, or if you have a large picture as your background... stranger things have happened.

I removed the nvidia driver.

am unable to find active desktop, tried right clicking on desktop(waited a good 30 secs) not there went in via control panel, no joy...still the problem remains .

Nothing in your log.

Your problems could well be caused by "ghost" drivers for your video card.
Try this:-
Ensure that you have the correct driver disk for your current graphics card.
Reboot into safe mode.
Open control Panel>System>device manager, and remove ALL display adapters.
Reboot, and reinstall the correct drivers.
See if that helps.
Be wary of strong drink. It may make you shoot at tax collectors, and miss!
