This began as a search hijack. Each time I would use Yahoo (home page) to search, I would be redirected to Search 777. At this time, I began to get "Only the Best" popups. I have run Spybot, Spy bloc, Ad Aware and Norton Anti Virus. THe trojan hunter found two trojans and a dozen suspected. I have eliminated the SEarch 777 hijack but I now have a home page hijack to zy websearch. I can reset the home page but as soon as I reboot, it resets to http://69.31.87.248:...n/index.cgi?c=0

I read the FAQ and took your advice., I really have no love for IE so I down loaded Mozilla Firefox. I don't mind using that but I do have two questions. I put shortcuts on my desktop for webpages and when I envoke them, it does take me to the page but it also generates an error message. Second, when I go to my forums, the buttons where you post no longer work.

As I said, I do not mind using Mozilla but I think that whatever I have has made my system unstable. I use Photo IMpact and 4 out of 5 times when I open it, I get the "Photo IMpact has encountered a problem" and it closes. I'm at a loss on what to do.

I got the same thing dude....nothing I've been able to do so far completely eliminates it.

It keeps repopulating itself in IE as:

res://<random>.dll/index.html#37794

Sometimes this URL comes up when I open IE:

http://81.211.105.20...n/index.cgi?c=0

And popups appear with banners of:

"Attention!"
"Spyware Detected"
"Spyware Removal"
"Warning!"
"Welcome to the System Performance Wizard"

Sometimes randomly the "Only the Best" popup appears.

Wish someone could help all of us with this variant....
