Hello all, I've had to deal with hijackers a couple times now and I've been through the normal steps. Repeatedly cleaned with CWShredder, HT, etc. I have a cleanlog that I follow as a basis when I scan my HT logs and I delete anything that I don't see on the clean log. I've restarted in safe mode and removed various folders that were installing stuff (virtual bouncer, wintools, etc.) Generally this is effective, however....

In addition to the normal repeated popups, I've also noticed that spywareblaster no longer works for me. I get an error message that says "This program has been damaged, possibly by a bad sector of the hard drive or a virus. Please reinstall it." I've reinstalled and it still says this. My Notepad is also missing. And now I've noticed that various CD keygens are in my shared folder for Kazaa.

My HT log appears clean to me, but if anyone that could help me out would find it useful in diagnosing the problem, I'll go ahead and post it. Otherwise, what's my next step here? Thanks alot for any suggestions.

Well I've disconnected my cable modem and the popups seem to stop. I'm sure they'll show up again once I'm back online. Any suggestions?

Ok, I guess I'll try one more time. It's been a few days now and I don't know what else to do. As I said before, this only affects me when I'm online if that helps any. I'd really appreciate it if someone could just steer me in the right direction here.

Hi there strungout,
Please post a fresh HJT logfile so I can have a look at it for you.
