I have been working on this for a few days now, and have followed all documentation I can find but the pest keeps coming back. Adware finds an removes a process and reg entries which seem to be different every time. even after killing the search and start pages with HijackThis the thing still returns. It seems like some process must look to see if it is killed a spawns another or something. Any help would be greatly appreciated as this is kicking my butt.
Thanks
updated hijackthis file

Hello...... in any case I hope this can help someone else out, I think I have fixed it.

Adware was able to kill the process but they were all restarting at login.

I used the Hijack This tool to remove the following
R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Page = res://C:\WINDOWS\system32\ggbiu.dll/sp.html#96676
R0 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Start Page = res://ggbiu.dll/index.html#96676
R0 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Start Page = res://ggbiu.dll/index.html#96676
R1 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Page = res://C:\WINDOWS\system32\ggbiu.dll/sp.html#96676
R1 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Default_Page_URL = res://ggbiu.dll/index.html#96676
R1 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Default_Search_URL = res://C:\WINDOWS\system32\ggbiu.dll/sp.html#96676
R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings,ProxyServer = sas.r4.attbi.com:8000
R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings,ProxyOverride = *.r4.attbi.com
O2 - BHO: (no name) - {06849E9F-C8D7-4D59-B87D-784B7D6BE0B3} - C:\Program Files\Adobe\Acrobat 5.0\Acrobat\ActiveX\AcroIEHelper.ocx
O2 - BHO: NAV Helper - {BDF3E430-B101-42AD-A544-FADC6B084872} - C:\Program Files\Norton AntiVirus\NavShExt.dll
O2 - BHO: (no name) - {E394341A-2ED9-EFE0-6516-4B65343512E4} - C:\WINDOWS\system32\ierm.dll

I then ran
adware and each time it found a process I ran hijackthis and removed it. The more I looked at the log I kept seeing new things popup that I could not find in a websearch so they went too.
below is a list of the files
syssr32.exe
d3hi32.exe
ipez32.exe
sdkhu32.dll
ntxtk.???
apzin32.dll
appj32.???
sdkmv32.exe
javago.dll
iedu32.dll
netpk.dll
addia.dll
this thread is closed
Even though no one responded to my post :grrr: Thank you for providing a wonderfull resource for free. Now if I could just get my wife on Linux this wouldn't be a problem ;D
Thanks again

It appears that you have one of the variants that has a hidden dll and re-installs itself under different names each time. Do a search on hidden dll, about:blank, dllfix.exe, and pv.zip and you should find some help.
