Here is my Hijack this log. I keep getting pop ups constantly and can't get rid of them.

I've tried Spybot, Ad-aware SE, AVG Spyware, AVG anti-virus, CW Shredder and everything else I can think of and all in safe mode and I'm getting no where!

Hello,

* Download Combofix to your desktop.
Doubleclick combofix.exe
Follow the prompts.
Don't click on the window while the fix is running, because that will cause your system to hang.

When finished and after reboot (in case it asks to reboot), it should open a log, combofix.txt.
Post this log in your next reply together with a new hijackthislog.

Hi,

The slow system was mainly because of the malware present. So we'll have to deal with that first and I'll give you some instructions afterwards how to improve system performance after malware removal.

Let's deal with leftovers now..

* Start HijackThis, close all open windows leaving only HijackThis running. Place a check against each of the following:

O2 - BHO: (no name) - {7E853D72-626A-48EC-A868-BA8D5E23E045} - (no file)
O8 - Extra context menu item: &Search - http://edits.mywebse...arch.jhtml?p=ZU
O9 - Extra button: Littlewoods Casino - {BAA37C20-5000-11DB-B0DE-0800200C9A66} - C:\Documents and Settings\Lei\Desktop\Littlewoods Casino.lnk (file missing)
O9 - Extra 'Tools' menuitem: Littlewoods Casino - {BAA37C20-5000-11DB-B0DE-0800200C9A66} - C:\Documents and Settings\Lei\Desktop\Littlewoods Casino.lnk (file missing)
O9 - Extra button: Littlewoods Casino - {BAA37C20-5000-11DB-B0DE-0800200C9A66} - http://www.littlewoodscasino.com (file missing) (HKCU)
O9 - Extra 'Tools' menuitem: Littlewoods Casino - {BAA37C20-5000-11DB-B0DE-0800200C9A66} - http://www.littlewoodscasino.com (file missing) (HKCU)
O16 - DPF: {A92E0798-BFA4-4FEE-BB48-8E2C69B2B0C5} (PageDive Control) - http://www.navigram....2/PageDive5.cab
O16 - DPF: {BCBC9371-595D-11D4-A96D-00105A1CEF6C} (View22RTE Class) - http://bobvila.view2...2/View22RTE.cab

* Click on Fix Checked when finished and exit HijackThis.
Make sure your Internet Explorer is closed when you click Fix Checked!

Delete next file:

C:\WINDOWS\system32\rgowyk_nav.dat

Then,

Open notepad and copy and paste next present in the quotebox in it:

sc qc HTTPFILTER >> look.txt
start notepad look.txt

Save this as look.bat , choose to save as *all files and place it on your desktop.
It should look like this: Posted Image
Doubleclick on it and notepad should open.
Copy and paste the contents of it in your next reply.
(In case you are unsure how to create a bat file, take a look here with screenshots.)

Also, Go to next site:
http://www.virustota.../en/indexf.html
On top you'll find 'Browse'
Click the browse button and browse to next file:

C:\WINDOWS\wbrs.sys

Click open.
Then click the 'Send' button next to it.
This will scan the file. Please be patient.
Once scanned, copy and paste the results in your next reply as well together with a new HijackThislog

Everything is looking OK here.

Just one thing to do though..
Your version of Java is outdated and needs to be updated to take advantage of fixes that have eliminated security vulnerabilities.
Updating Java:
  • Download the latest version of Java Runtime Environment (JRE) 6u1.
  • Scroll down to where it says "Java Runtime Environment (JRE) 6u1".
  • Click the "Download" button to the right.
  • Check the box that says: "Accept License Agreement".
  • The page will refresh.
  • Click on the link to download Windows Offline Installation, Multi-language and save to your desktop.
  • Close any programs you may have running - especially your web browser.
  • Go to Start > Control Panel double-click on Add/Remove programs and remove all older versions of Java.
  • Check any item with Java Runtime Environment (JRE or J2SE) in the name.
    - Examples of older versions in Add or Remove Programs:
    • Java 2 Runtime Environment, SE v1.4.2
    • J2SE Runtime Environment 5.0
    • J2SE Runtime Environment 5.0 Update 6
  • Click the Remove or Change/Remove button.
  • Repeat as many times as necessary to remove each Java versions.
  • Reboot your computer once all Java components are removed.
  • Then from your desktop double-click on jre-6-windows-i586.exe to install the newest version.
How are things now?

Hi,

It's much quicker esp. on start up and no more pop-ups yet!

Thanks so much for your help - it's been like that for weeks and I just couldn't get rid of it!
