      IE 11 copy/paste problem

It has come to our attention that people using Internet Explorer 11 (IE 11) are having trouble with copy/paste to the forum. If you encounter this problem, using a different browser like Firefox or Chrome seems to get around the problem. We do not know what the problem is, but it seems to be specific to IE 11 and we are hopeful that Microsoft will eventually fix it.

Win32 Trojan and popups

7 posts in this topic

Hey everyone,

I found this forum after Googling what I currently have on my computer.

The Win32:VBStat-C [Trj] has infected my computer, and Avast just can't seem to get rid of it. I keep moving it to the virus chest but that doesn't resolve anything.

This has resulted in alot of popups for "anti-virus software" and slow PC performance.

I found another topic on this forum for a person with a similar problem. They were informed to use Vundu (sp?) to get rid of it. I also tried Vundu and although this got rid of some, it didn't fix the major problem.

What other steps do I need to take? And is it the Trojan that is causing the popups or something else?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Alex

Please download VundoFix.exe

to your desktop.

  • Double-click VundoFix.exe to run it.
  • Click the Scan for Vundo button.
  • Once it's done scanning, click the Remove Vundo button.
  • You will receive a prompt asking if you want to remove the files, click YES
  • Once you click yes, your desktop will go blank as it starts removing Vundo.
  • When completed, it will prompt that it will reboot your computer, click OK.
  • Please post the contents of C:\vundofix.txt and a new HiJackThis log.

Note: It is possible that VundoFix encountered a file it could not remove.

In this case, VundoFix will run on reboot, simply follow the above

instructions starting from "Click the Scan for Vundo button." when

VundoFix appears at reboot.

There are a few similar names I noticed in the search I did 8 days ago and the search I did today, e.g wwwuwtex.dll, so obviously they keep coming back.

I performed another Vundo search but there were no infected files.
