      IE 11 copy/paste problem

It has come to our attention that people using Internet Explorer 11 (IE 11) are having trouble with copy/paste to the forum. If you encounter this problem, using a different browser like Firefox or Chrome seems to get around the problem. We do not know what the problem is, but it seems to be specific to IE 11 and we are hopeful that Microsoft will eventually fix it.

Outerinfo, popups, computer running slow

4 posts in this topic

My computer's been running slower than usual, and I have noticed sudden popups recently, when there used to be none as recent as last week. Also, there seemed to be some bogus anti-spyware program called ErrorProtector trying to install itself on my computer. I use firefox, but all the popups looked like they came from Internet Explorer, so I changed the LAN settings and set the proxy to 0.0.0.0, to disable it. Popups still occur, but with a "Page not found" page instead. Also, in my Add/remove programs list, there was something called Outerinfo, which is probably spyware. I tried running the Outerinfo uninstaller, but I don't know if it's completely gone.

Something to note: I had a problem with spyware called ISTbar a few months ago, but there had been no symptoms or any problems since I fixed that. However, it still appears in the registry, and I was never able to get rid of it. Even though ISTbar still appears when I run Adaware and Spybot, I don't think it's been causing me problems.

So, I would really appreciate any help out there.
