I have had to deal with hijackers before but this one seems to be aware of this website and wont let me register from her computer. I had to do it from here, at home on my computer. When I try to register on the SWI forum from her computer it changes the hidden word that is required at registration. No matter how many times I try it comes back as WRONG. So anyway I have a hijackthis log that I emailed to myself. I will post it here. I already went to her registry and deleted the obvious entries like urlhook and tvmedia and dealhelper but it is still infected. So here is the log... I hope you can help me. BTW, I did register her from here so HOPEFULLY tomorrow I can access this forum from her computer. I will print out any help I get tonight so I can take it to her office tomorrow.

Thank You...

Julien Bowles

I forgot to mention that I already ran Spybot, Adaware and PestPatrol...and VirusScan.

One more thing and this might help... this is the LOG before I deleted anything from the registry.

Thanks,

Julien

Hi,
First thing to do is ...

Reconfigure Windows Explorer to show Hidden Files:
Open the Windows Explorer Folder Options - View [tab]:

Scroll down to the "Files and Folders" section.
Select: "Display the contents of system folders".

Scroll down to the "Hidden Files and Folders" section.
Select: "Show hidden files and folders", Ok the prompt
Uncheck: "Hide file extensions for known file types"
Uncheck: "Hide protected operating system files" Ok the Prompt, click Apply

Click the "Apply to all Folders" button. Close Windows Explorer.

Next:

Close all open windows, except for HijackThis place a check in each of the following:
Then click "Fix checked".

O2 - BHO: (no name) - {0000607D-D204-42C7-8E46-216055BF9918} - C:\WINDOWS\mxTarget.dll
O2 - BHO: (no name) - {01C5BF6C-E699-4CD7-BEA1-786FA05C83AB} - C:\Program Files\SysAI\AproposPlugin.dll
O2 - BHO: (no name) - {046D6EA4-15E3-4b27-8010-45BD78A9219E} - C:\PROGRA~1\INTERN~2\inetkw.dll
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [vfnpbhfm] C:\WINDOWS\System32\cmfpqqbj.exe
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [hpsysconf1] C:\WINDOWS\System32\rwgyumf.exe
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [inetmgr] C:\PROGRA~1\INTERN~2\inetmgr.exe
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [qF4U3Eh] dswntbbu.exe
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [AutoUpdater] "C:\Program Files\AutoUpdate\AutoUpdate.exe"
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [msbb] c:\windows\msbb.exe
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [stsnox] C:\WINDOWS\stsnox.exe
O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [bov8RON4S] urlbjapi.exe

Then reboot, on restart, restart in Safe Mode (see "How To" below)

Start | Run (type) "%temp%" (no quotes)
Completely delete the entire contents of that "temp" folder.

Open Windows Explorer locate and delete the following:

C:\WINDOWS\System32\cmfpqqbj.exe <--this file
C:\WINDOWS\System32\rwgyumf.exe <--this file
C:\PROGRA~1\INTERN~2\inetmgr.exe <--this file
C:\WINDOWS\System32\dswntbbu.exe <--this file
C:\WINDOWS\System32\urlbjapi.exe <--this file
C:\WINDOWS\mxTarget.dll <--this file
C:\windows\msbb.exe <--this file
C:\WINDOWS\stsnox.exe <--this file
C:\PROGRAM FILES\INTERN~2\inetkw.dll <--this file
Note: locate "inetkw.dll" via Start > Search
C:\Program Files\AutoUpdate <--this folder
C:\Program Files\SysAI <--this folder

Restart normally and then ...

Reconfigure Ad-Aware for Full Scan:
Please update the reference file following the instructions here:
http://www.lavahelp....dref/index.html

Launch the program, and click on the Gear at the top of the start screen.

Click the "Scanning" button.
Under Drives & Folders, select "Scan within Archives".
Click "Click here to select Drives + folders" and select your installed hard drives.

Under Memory & Registry, select all options.
Click the "Advanced" button. Under "Log-file detail", select all options.

Click the "Tweaks" button. Under "Scanning Engine", select the following:
"Include additional Ad-aware settings in logfile" and
"Unload recognized processes during scanning."
Under "Cleaning Engine", select the following:
"Let Windows remove files in use after reboot."
Click on 'Proceed' to save these Preferences.
Please make sure that you activate IN-DEPTH scanning before you proceed.

After the above, reboot, rescan with HijackThis and post a fresh log ...

How do I do this? I'm not sure how to get to the place to make this change.

Thanks,

Julien

Hi,

My wife just called and now her email is not working, since I deleted stuff etc.

There was nothing Yahoo related in my last reply, however the machine is infected again, different parasites this time.

Uninstall via Add Remove: ShopForGood

Close all open windows, except for HijackThis place a check in each of the following:
Then click "Fix checked".

O2 - BHO: (no name) - {00000000-10D6-4e5f-8F7F-29B32C1C0FC4} - C:\WINDOWS\System32\icddefff.dll

O2 - BHO: (no name) - {046D6EA4-15E3-4b27-8010-45BD78A9219E} - C:\PROGRA~1\INTERN~2\inetkw.dll (file missing)
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [inetmgr] C:\PROGRA~1\INTERN~2\inetmgr.exe
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [ihgsxuc] C:\WINDOWS\System32\cmfpqqbj.exe
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [he3bbcff] rundll32.exe C:\WINDOWS\System32\he3bbcff.dll,EnableRunDLL32
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [wmcbaaca] rundll32.exe C:\WINDOWS\System32\wmcbaaca.dll,EnableRunDLL32
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [icddefff] rundll32.exe C:\WINDOWS\System32\icddefff.dll,EnableRunDLL32
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [ielcaabe] rundll32.exe C:\WINDOWS\System32\ielcaabe.dll,EnableRunDLL32
O4 - HKLM\..\RunOnce: [Delete1] rundll32.exe advpack.dll,DelNodeRunDLL32 "C:\program files\MD\md.exe"
O4 - HKLM\..\RunOnce: [Delete2] rundll32.exe advpack.dll,DelNodeRunDLL32 "C:\program files\TGDC\tgdc.exe"
O4 - HKLM\..\RunOnce: [Delete3] rundll32.exe advpack.dll,DelNodeRunDLL32 "C:\program files\TGDC\tgdc_2.exe"
O4 - HKLM\..\RunOnce: [Delete4] rundll32.exe advpack.dll,DelNodeRunDLL32 "C:\program files\WINY\winy.exe"
O4 - HKLM\..\RunOnce: [Delete5] rundll32.exe advpack.dll,DelNodeRunDLL32 "C:\program files\TGDC\tgdc_2a.exe"

Then reboot, on restart, restart in Safe Mode (see "How To" below)

Start | Run (type) "%temp%" (no quotes)
Completely delete the entire contents of that "temp" folder.

Open Windows Explorer locate and delete the following:

C:\WINDOWS\System32\icddefff.dll <--this file
C:\WINDOWS\System32\he3bbcff.dll <--this file
C:\WINDOWS\System32\wmcbaaca.dll <--this file
C:\WINDOWS\System32\ielcaabe.dll <--this file
C:\WINDOWS\System32\cmfpqqbj.exe <--this file
C:\PROGRAM FILES\INTERN~2\inetmgr.exe <--this file
Note: locate via Start > Search inetmgr.exe
C:\program files\MD <--this folder
C:\program files\TGDC <--this folder
C:\program files\WINY <--this folder

While still in Safe Mode, run Ad-Aware and restart normally.

After the above, reboot, rescan with HijackThis and post a fresh log ...

Hi Mike,

I have not had a chance to get back to my wife's office and finish with this but i'm going to try Monday or Tuesday. Her IT guy, Frank, may be the one picking the process up. I will direct him to this post.

I just didn't want you to think I was lame and not following through. I thought of posting this update because I now have a problem here on my computer at home but that's another post...

Thanks for all your help.

Julien

Hi,

i'm going to try Monday or Tuesday.

Ok, no problem ...

because I now have a problem here on my computer

You can post your log here, just run thru the normal steps of running Ad-Aware (reconfigured) etc., before you post ... and make a note that it is a different machine.

Note: both of you should update HijackThis: Download Posted Image HijackThis! 1.98

I did all that but I couldn't remember all the stuff to do to Ad-aware. I did update it and I am showing hidden files.

The other post is under the name...jbow

Thanks
