pleeeeaaase help:

My computer has been taken over by a spybot. It keeps changing my homepage to about:blank, and won't let me right click to see where the real address is. also, it changed some file names around so that it looked like they were deleted... it adds a .bak extension to several exe files.

ok I am running windows ME, with IE 6. I have updated Adaware, Spybot Search and Destroy, and Norton Antivirus. All have been updated and scanned, and find nothing wrong! so i have downloaded Codestuff Starter, and Hijack this. here is my HijackThis logfile.

I am pretty knowledgeable about computers and files and so on, but i am horrible with this registry code stuff... it looks like greek to me. so can someone please help me??? I have been to several spybot forums, and everyone recommends deleteing all sorts of .dll files, but some of those .dlls i have, and some i don't. also, many of the fixes only work for win xp... and i have ME.

hey nando, i took your advice and it seems to have done the trick... but i haven't restarted yet, so congratulations may be early.

also, if anyone of the "helper groups" has any other suggestions on what i should or shouldn't fix, post them.

EDIT: I restarted and it appears the spyware has been killed! wooohoooo! thanks again.

and one more question: this spyware apparently tries to screw up windows media player and notepad right??? or do i have another spyware that does that?
because i found the windows media player exe file had a .bak added to it, but i can't find what it did to notepad... and now i can't open text files
