Port UPD trouble

hello this is panda1445,

im having some trouble with port UPD.

i dont know much about these kind of things so please help me.

im using Azureus and it works but i dont think im getting the highest speed possible. When i first installed azureus it said Port UPD 39979 is not open...

HOW DO I OPEN THIS PORT?

i am currently using panda internet security 2007

UDP is a standard for lengthy data transmission sessions.

You're behind a router - which model are you behind? I can walk you through opening said port if you tell me the model number.

Also, are you running a wireless or wired connection?

well im not exactly sure what you mean but i am hooked to a wireless router. the brand of the router is netcom, model number NB5+4W adsl 2...

That actually doesn't help... sounds like you have a combination ADSL modem and router.

Really - the only thing you'd open that port for is to seed torrents. If you're seeding based upon connections you've already made, you should seed to at least an equal ratio without making any modifications.

I wouldn't worry about it.
