There are a lot of dead links (most of them to the former forums of SWI) which I will try and replace when I can find the time.
But I thought it would be nice to have the chronicles back after Trend removed them.

Pieter

I am managing the DNS for Merijn's site - which is http://www.merijn.org and is on our dedicated server. (We're not charging Merijn for it).
I fixed a couple of bad Merijn links in http://www.spywareinfo.com - including link to his donation page.

The link to The CoolWebSearch Chronicles on Merijn.org points to cwshredder.net, which is dead.
Obviously if the article is online on Merijn's site there is no need for my copy.

Pieter

Same for me, the internally linked articles still work, but that one is externally linked toThe link to The CoolWebSearch Chronicles on Merijn.org points to cwshredder.net, which is dead.

which seems dead, as does http://cwshredder.net itself.

I have changed the pointer in that file:Hosted at InterMute

Read this article
Working nicely - http://www.merijn.org/articles.phpRecreated by Metallica, 2008
Thanks a lot, Metallica.

P.S. I can't seem to figure out how to correct this line in http://www.merijn.org: "Can't reach this page from a infected computer? Try using this address: http://216.180.233.162/~merijn/"
Changing that to http://75.127.110.25/merijn.org makes a bad link, as do other variants such as http://75.127.110.25/merijn/merijn.org and http://75.127.110.25/merijn/.

I think I know why it doesn't work, but I don't know the solution.
There are more then one domains at that server/IP (3 I think)
So it's impossible to figure out which one to replace the IP with.
@Galadriel,
It sure brought back memories. I really have to blame this subforum for sending me down memory lane. (And your return helped

I'm sure I'll enjoy trying to find suitable links for those infections to replace the broken ones, so I'm going to do that when I have plenty of time. Because I'm bound to get sidetracked a thousand times.

Pieter

@ Pieter, I've been in memory lane for 4 years... and even more so in the last year, so... welcome to the club! lol

Has Merijn contacted you about uploading the latest version of BFU?
1.12 is out.

That should always work. With some conditions. If the Merijn.org domain has the account name of 'merijn'. If the server is running cPanel, and if that option has been enabled. The tilde "~" plus account name, offers a way to access domains on cPanel servers bypassing DNS. However, it's often disabled by default, because access doesn't count toward any bandwidth limits assigned to the account. How about:
http://75.127.110.25/~merijn/
I know Merijn is having trouble accessing FTP on merijn.org, but I don't think it would be related to DNS.

Ask Merijn to contact me - I don't know why his ftp wouldn't work, if he is using the correct host 75.127.110.25

Actually I didn't research the meaning behind the tilde, I just went with what had already been posted and tried it myself and it worked. Hence me offering the suggestion. See below quote.
