Email 'Chain Letters'

Hoping for some enlightenment.Can the originators of these, at best, nuisance messages be surreptitiously harvesting email addresses irrespective of whether or not the forwarder is using the BCC function ? I understand that they are used to spread viruses and also generally clog email servers.

The chain -mails can be used for all kinds of things; I presume you use mailwasher to filter mails on server? In which case IMHO the best thing to do if you get one of these mails is to bin it ...simple as that..and stop your part of the chain :thumbup: Its really just Spam dressed up a bit..
