Hi, apologies if this is not in quite the right section.
I experienced the pernicious Dealio toolbar problems others have had, and unfortunately manually deleted the "C:\Program Files\Dealio\..." stuff myself rather than uninstalling.
Since then I could not get rid of the about:Tabs default page being Dealio sponsored. Looked at a lot of other posts giving very detailed instructions on how to remove this - in my case without success.
Turns out there was a simple and rather obvious solution (again apols. if this is so obvious as to be offensive!):
Control Panel > Add / Remove Programs > Search Settings > Remove
This is a Dealio-installed package that sits alongside the Dealio toolbar - removing this gets rid of the about:Tabs handler and associated Registry stuff (from IE - not tested Firefox handler).
