For the last few weeks, I've been picking up the CWS.JKsearch hijacker from time to time. CWShredder (I'm at version 1.59.1 currently) gets rid of it, but in the process it resets my IE privacy settings. I override automatic cookie processing by blocking all persistent cookies (except for a few selected sites), and after CWShredder removes the hijacker entry, the cookie override is disabled and I need to reset it. Is this a known problem, or is it a symptom of something more serious?

Irritating small problem with CWShredder

PSZ,
If you open Internet Explorer and click on Tools/Internet Options/Programs
you will find a button Reset Web Settings.
When you press that button all Internet settings are reset to their default settings.
My guess is, that CWShredder.exe sets all Internet Settings to their default value after removing the CWS, which is also a normal procedure in the manual removal of CWS, described at this website
http://www.kephyr.co...source=appvisit
When you have changed the default settings after installing Internet Explorer,
you have to change them back after running CWShredder.exe
So this is normal and be glad you got rid of the CWS-variant, because CWS is a very nasty one.

Thanks
As long as I know it's normal, I won't worry about it

I wondered what was happening.
I want my IE text size to remain at Medium, but it always goes back to Largest.
The weird thing is it keeps jumping, even if I don't use it.
Could a CWS variant be causing this?
If it can do this, why hasn't anyone reported this minor nuisance?
