got this link from some one i thot was a friend...

when i clicked the downloaded file it disappeared. now i have browser searches and links being redirected and webpages that i'd never visit in a million years popping up out of nowhere.

No need to use that type of language, this is a family forum.

You should read the Forum FAQ and open a topic in the Malware Removal forum stating the problem and posting the requested logs. You could also include a link back to this topic.

You may have noticed that TheJoker disabled the malware link you posted earlier... I also disabled the one you have in your topic in Malware Removal -- PLEASE DO NOT post live malware links in the forum, we have enough people with infected computers to help already...

Also, I noticed you have another open topic:
