URL Safety Rule #1: The Server specification ends at the first "/" that occurs after the "http://" start of the URL, and the Page specification ends at the first question mark after that. This rule is important to understanding whether a URL is valid, bogus or misleading.

the best way to know that a website is secured, look at the url address if it stats with https:// then is secured, but if it starts with http:// is unsecured

Nothing to prevent malware from having a secure site, as far as I know. Secure just means that data sent between you and it is encrypted. That doesn't guarantee that it is the site you think it is.

That's an excellent article! You can also use URLVoid to quickly find out if a website is safe to browse or not.

Once again, you appear to be SPAMming your own site... Given the number of well known sites to look up IP addresses, the "Beta" site you posted is likely to be another effort on your part to promote your site... This is the last time if you wish to remain on this site...

No. If you wish to have people check out your site, you may post a topic in 'On the Web' forum describing your site and what it has to offer. Do not put the link in your signature. Post just that one topic and do not add replies to other threads.

Sites like Web of Trust can also be consulted, although the results are not always accurate. It's also possible for a legitimate site to be cracked and edited or added to. If this was done recently, reviews of the website may not reflect the newly-compromised status of the site.

Although any website that relies upon user ratings cannot be completely relied upon, from experience I consider Web of Trust to be a useful tool if used in conjunction with other resources. Leo's article is definitely worth reading. If only more people were aware of what he wrote, the effectiveness of spam and phishing emails could be hindered.

Programs like Avast, or MBAM (paid version), will block known malevolent sites and prevent you from browsing them.

This is sometimes a nuisance but you can temporarily turn the website blocking off.
